ADESK was created to connect people bored with sitting in their lounges, perching on the breakfast bar or, for the lucky few, those sick of looking at the same walls of their home office.
We are, by our nature, sociable creatures and while working from home will be a big part of the ‘new normal’, being isolated doesn’t need to be.
So, how does ADESK work?
Search local venues by location or what facilities you want or NEED when working, select the time and date you want to work from that venue and book. It really is that simple.
We have been asked “Why would we bother booking a table, you can work from all sorts of venues as most have spare tables”. A fair point until you consider a few key issues.
Scenario 1: What happens if you arrive at your chosen venue to work and it is busy, there are no tables free and you either have to wait or you are back to perching where you can find a space – may as well have stayed at home.
Scenario 2: When you arrive at a venue there are tables available but none of them have any power points within reach. A nightmare if you are low on battery or your device is particularly thirsty.
Scenario 3: You arrive at a venue and get the table near a power supply but the table is next to the kitchen or doorways with higher noise levels than normal. This could make your working day a problem if you have to be on the phone or are on video calls etc. Wouldn’t it be better to be in a place you know will be conducive to working?
Scenario 4: You have set up at a venue, next to a power supply, in a quiet corner and all is well. However you have been there for two/three hours and only bought one coffee (and that’s a refill) and the owner/manager is hoping you will free up the table for people who are going to spend a lot more. This can be an awkward situation, so how much more relaxing would it be for you to know your presence there is welcomed rather than being an unwanted space filler?!
We could go on.
ADESK solves everyone’s problems. It ensures you have a safe, powered space to work while ensuring venues maximise their otherwise unused areas. Often people who work in the morning stay on for lunch, if available, and those working in the afternoon close their laptop and have some afterwork drinks so again the venue is happy.
Currently ADESK is completely free to use for everyone, workers and venues alike. Why? We want to help the hospitality industry get people back through the doors and we want to support people new to the ‘working from home’ concept and show them they don’t have to work in their PJs from the dining room table everyday!
